Box-counting dimension and differentiability of box-like statistically self-affine functions

چکیده
We consider a class of “box-like” statistically self-affine functions, and compute the almost-sure box-counting dimension their graphs. Furthermore, we differentiability our prove that, depending on an explicitly computable functional model, they are almost surely either differentiable everywhere or non-differentiable everywhere.

متن کاملBox-Counting Fractal Strings, Zeta Functions, and Equivalent Forms of Minkowski Dimension
We discuss a number of techniques for determining the Minkowski dimension of bounded subsets of some Euclidean space of any dimension, including: the box-counting dimension and equivalent definitions based on various box-counting functions; the similarity dimension via the Moran equation (at least in the case of self-similar sets); the order of the (box-)counting function; the classic result on...
متن کاملComputing Fractal Dimension of Signals using Multiresolution Box-counting Method
In this paper, we have developed a method to compute fractal dimension (FD) of discrete time signals, in the time domain, by modifying the box-counting method. The size of the box is dependent on the sampling frequency of the signal. The number of boxes required to completely cover the signal are obtained at multiple time resolutions. The time resolutions are made coarse by decimating the signa...
متن کاملThe box-counting dimension for geometrically finite Kleinian groups
We calculate the box-counting dimension of the limit set of a general geometrically finite Kleinian group. Using the “global measure formula” for the Patterson measure and using an estimate on the horoball counting function we show that the Hausdorff dimension of the limit set is equal to both: the box-counting dimension and packing dimension of the limit set. Thus, by a result of Sullivan, we ...
متن کاملFRACAM Cell Phone Application to Measure Box Counting Dimension
There are two kinds of algorithms: those that are ‘better’ with respect to accuracy and those that are ‘faster’. In the past, fractal analysis by means of box-counting including both, binary and greyscale analysis has been focused on the former. In our work, however, we want to aim at the second category: algorithms that are fast and easy to use, without losing view on significance. To this end...
